2 dead in shooting at Juneteenth festival in Round Rock, Texas

The suspect(s) are still at large. Round Rock police are asking anyone with video of the shooting to contact them immediately.

ROUND ROCK, Texas —

According to Round Rock police, two people were killed and several others injured in a shooting during a Juneteenth celebration around 10:50 p.m. Saturday night in Round Rock, Texas.

The suspect(s) responsible for the shooting are still at large. Round Rock Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting or video of the shooting to call Round Rock Police at: (512) 218-5500.

The shooting began when two groups began fighting with each other at Old Settler’s Park near the vendor area during the Round Rock Juneteenth Festival. During the brawl, at least one person pulled out a gun and began shooting. Round Rock police are unsure if multiple people fired shots during the incident.

Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks said the identities of those killed and injured will be released at a later date, and the information will include the total number of injured.

Round Rock police and firefighters on scene responded immediately to the shooting, applying tourniquets to the injured and performing CPR.

Police did not release a description of the suspect. Police Chief Banks said there were multiple descriptions of the suspect and differing accounts of what happened during the shooting.

Old Settler’s Park is closed on Sunday mornings and afternoons.
