Woman raped and robbed in Dalpark Ext 6

The Brakpan Sector Four CPF has asked community members not to use the footpath through Dalpark Ext 6 sports field in the evening following the rape and robbery of a woman in the area on Monday.

According to information from Brakpan Police, the victim was on her way to her sister’s house after being dropped off by a taxi at around 6pm.

As she walked along the path, she was attacked by two men wearing balaclavas. One of the men strangled her and the other searched her.

The attackers demanded money and threatened her with a gun and a knife. The victim’s cell phone was stolen and the men ordered her to undress.

One of the men also took off his clothes. He then pushed the victim to the ground and raped her.

She was then raped by the second man. Before fleeing the scene, the couple also took the victim’s scarf and a blanket.

In a message distributed to members of a WhatsApp safety group in Dalpark, Sector Four CPF chair Jessy Naicker urged people to avoid the route, especially after 5pm.

Cases of rape and armed robbery were opened at Brakpan police station.
