Police respond to a reported attack on a waiter at a Mexican restaurant in Warren, Ohio on Cinco De Mayo

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police were called to a reported assault Sunday night after customers at a Mexican restaurant were reportedly upset with their server.

Around 6:10 p.m., callers told police that customers at the restaurant in the 2900 block of Parkman Road were punching their server and throwing shoes at him.

According to a Warren police report, the waiter told police that three women and three girls came into the restaurant and wanted to order alcoholic drinks. After asking for identification, it was discovered that the three girls were underage, reports said.

According to the report, the three adult women purchased margaritas and virgin margaritas for the teens before going outside to the fenced-in patio. A few minutes later, the women reportedly ordered tequila shots and beer. The manager reportedly saw the adult women pour the shots into the margaritas and that they also gave the teens a beer to drink. The manager then instructed the waiter to tell the women and youth that the youth were not allowed to drink alcohol on their property and that they would have to leave the property.

According to police reports, one of the teenage girls hit the server and a fight ensued. The three adults reportedly began punching and kicking the server before the fight was broken up.

The teens reportedly jumped the fence and ran away, leaving the adult women in the patio area when customers were informed that police were being called. According to reports, the adult women were unable to leave the patio because the door to the restaurant was locked.

When police arrived, they reportedly noticed several lumps and bruises on the waiter’s face. Several witnesses reportedly confirmed what the waiter told police.

Police told the three women that if they returned to the restaurant they would be arrested and placed on the felony list. A report has been created.
