“Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband Ben Potter passed away in a regrettable accident,” Nathalie’s statement began.

“To many of you, he was a comics storyteller who told stories from many different media. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most helpful people you could wish for.”

“His channel was one of his greatest achievements and while we all need time to mourn his loss, I know he would not have wanted it to end this way,” she continued.

Nathalie says she and Potter’s team plan to keep his channel going, although it’s unclear how.

“Ben has spent over a decade spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies,” she said.

“The team and I want to continue this.”

“To honor him by continuing to tell great stories about great people and to keep the memory of our own superhero alive,” she explained.

“We supported each other in everything we wanted to do and I have no plans to stop now.”

Fans were heartbroken to hear the news and rushed to pay their respects to the YouTuber in the comments and express their condolences to his wife.

“I have never been so shocked by the death of a celebrity,” wrote one Reddit user.

“One of the few YouTube channels I actually enjoyed. He seemed like a great guy, condolences,” said another.

“I just listened to Absolutely Comics on my lunch break,” wrote another.

“I am really shocked and sad.”

The exact cause of death is currently unclear.

Who was Comicstorian?

Ben Potter, 40, was a YouTuber with over three million subscribers, a self-proclaimed comic book nerd and host of “The Weekly Pull” and “Absolute Comics,” two podcasts dedicated entirely to comics.

Potter turned his love of comics into a career by creating audio plays on his YouTube channel, successfully attracting many new fans who were previously uninterested in the genre.

“Ben’s videos were the main reason I started reading comics,” one post said.

In addition to radio plays, Potter made explanatory videos in which he delved deep into the lore and origins of various comics, universes and characters.

Potter also had a vlog named after him, a gaming channel called Eligible Monster Gaming, a manga channel called Mangastorian, and a rant channel – Benny Has A Problem.

Potter’s latest video, posted just three days ago, has over 51,000 views and nearly 4,000 comments – most of which offer condolences and thank the YouTuber for everything he has done for comics and the people who love them.

Comicstorian’s wife announces his death

Ben Potter, better known as Comicstorian, has died in an accident. The YouTuber’s wife, Nathalie, took over his social media accounts to share the sad news with his fans.

Nathalie’s contribution in full:

Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband Ben Potter passed away in an unfortunate accident.

To many of you, he was a comic storyteller who told stories from many different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive people you could ask for. As a husband, son, brother, friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who listened and made time for his loved ones. He did his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were OK. He was our rock, reassuring his loved ones whenever they needed it.

He was my everything and I need time for friends and family. I have so many things to sort out but first I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy and that of everyone else. Right now my priority is to preserve everything he built and I have no plans beyond that.

His channel was one of his greatest achievements and while we all need time to mourn his loss, I know he wouldn’t have wanted it to end this way.

Ben has spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. His love of engaging stories and well-written characters is what got him started on YouTube.

The team and I want to keep that going. We want to honor him by continuing to tell great stories about great people, and we want to keep the memory of our own superhero alive.

We supported each other in everything we wanted to do and I have no plans to stop now.
