A wanted Monroe man has been arrested for a fatal shooting on Barrington Drive, according to police

MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) – On April 26, 2024, officers with the Monroe Police Department initiated a homicide investigation on Barrington Drive.

According to officers, two male subjects were traveling on Barrington Drive when a white Nissan Altima drove along LA 126 and stopped at the intersection of Barrington and Dunn Drive. Two unidentified male subjects reportedly exited the vehicle through the two rear doors and allegedly began shooting at the two male subjects as they left.


One of the unidentified men fell to the ground while another male subject was last seen running northeast. One victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials reported that one of the suspects was shot at a residence on South 9th Street prior to the incident, and based on information provided by officers, it is suspected that one of the victims allegedly shot him. On scene, officers found 11 spent 9mm caliber cartridges and 9 spent .357 caliber cartridges.

Officers obtained a search warrant for an unknown residence and found a flashlight, a magazine loader for a Glock and a black glove in a bedroom dresser drawer. During the investigation, Brandon Caryell Hubbard was charged with second-degree murder on May 8, 2024.
