1 dead in stabbing in Modesto; police believe there is no danger to the public

MODESTO – Detectives believe the stabbing that left one person dead in Modesto on Saturday night was an isolated incident.

According to Modesto police, officers responded to the 1300 block of Trenary Way shortly before 8 p.m. to investigate reports of a stabbing.

Rescue workers found a victim on site who was quickly taken to hospital.

The person died shortly afterwards, police said. The person’s name was not released.

Detectives from the Modesto Police Department’s Investigative Division are on scene and there was a heavy police presence in the area throughout the night.

The police believe there is no danger to the public. However, no information about the suspect has been released.
