Man arrested after drugs and stolen gun found on Friday

COLORADO SPRINGS – On Friday, June 7, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Colorado Springs Police officers responded to a report of a person entering the camp grounds at 1100 N. Academy Blvd.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found and seized over an ounce of various narcotics, including methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl.

In addition, drug-related equipment and a stolen weapon were found and confiscated.

Adama James Brown, 41, who has been convicted of serious crimes in several states, was arrested in the course of this investigation.

He is now accused of further crimes, including:

  • Weapon possession by former criminals
  • Unlawful distribution
  • Unlawful possession of a controlled substance
