Beyond Wrestling suspends executive producer indefinitely over transphobic tweet

Beyond Wrestling has suspended executive producer Jon Roy indefinitely.

On Thursday, Beyond Wrestling’s Drew Cordeiro announced on Twitter that Roy had been suspended for using derogatory language. He wrote:

“Effective immediately, I have suspended our executive producer Jon Roy indefinitely.

Our code of conduct states that derogatory language will not be tolerated.

I will go into more detail as soon as my schedule allows.

-Drew”

It is worth noting that Roy recently welcomed a transgender woman as “ugly bald man in a dress” on twitter.

Roy also claimed on Twitter that he was fired. He wrote:

“I got fired and I’m sure all 8 people who were mad at me will still support their local favorites because I won’t be there.”

Roy has since deleted his Twitter account.

In other news, Bull Nakano recently spoke with Sports illustrated to comment on her role as commissioner of the women-only Sukeban promotion.

Below you can see some highlights from the interview:

On his appointment as Commissioner of the Company: “I have been appointed Commissioner of Sukeban in 2023. What I love most about Sukeban is that I get to experience the past, present and future of Japan’s unique culture in the ring. I like the recognition of the Sukeban lifestyle from decades ago and that experienced and young wrestlers come together to put on the best show.”

On the Sukeban list: “I am so proud of all the active athletes and try to support them. My favorite wrestlers, the ones closest to my heart, are all the Sukeban wrestlers. I consider them like my children. I see unlimited potential in the Sukeban wrestlers. There are so many young, talented wrestlers in the roster. I want to continue to watch and support Sukeban as commissioner to see how far it will go in the future.”
