House fire in Salisbury is being investigated

SALISBURY, Maryland – The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire at a single-family home.

Officials say the fire started at 6:20 p.m. on Pratt Road in Salisbury. The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene after a neighbor spotted the fire. The fire started on the back patio and spread throughout the house. A 25-year-old firefighter was injured and was taken to TidalHealth with non-life-threatening injuries.

The damage is estimated at over $100,000. According to the fire department, there was a smoke detector, but no fire alarm.

It took 30 minutes to bring the fire under control and it is currently under investigation.
