June 2, 2024, 2:40 p.m.

A homeless man was arrested Saturday afternoon for an alleged disorderly conduct incident in Myrtle Creek.

According to a report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the 41-year-old had been contacted by several law enforcement officers earlier in the day because he allegedly pulled down his pants, acted suspiciously and caused a disturbance in the Myrtle Creek area.

Just before 1:30 p.m., the man was cited again for allegedly pulling down his pants and exposing himself in front of people, including several young women in the 200 block of North Main Street. The youths who witnessed the incident said the suspect was doing karate exercises in the street when he exposed himself.

The suspect persisted with the allegations, but was taken into custody. He was charged with second-degree disturbing the peace and violation of probation. The man was taken into custody without bail.
