FIRST ALARM WEATHER DAYS | Severe storms possible

(WSAZ) – Gusty winds, damaging hail, tornadoes and flooding are the concerns for the next few days.

There will be several rounds of storms during the afternoon and evening hours of Tuesday, with the possibility of some storms becoming more severe. The first round will take place in the afternoon hours and the chance of thunderstorms is very low, while the other round will come overnight. The threat of tornadoes is low and extremely low compared to April 2nd. However, some of these storms have the potential to produce tornadoes. Daytime highs will reach the low 80s. Today begins the three-day series of First Alert Weather Days. Flooding will continue to be a concern over the next few days.

On Wednesday, once the overnight storms have subsided, there will be a nice break until the afternoon hours. Keep in mind that not all storms will reach severe proportions, but they can still produce downpours and some loud claps of thunder during the afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures on Wednesday will reach into the high 80s.

On Thursday there is a great danger that it will (as of now) end in the morning hours. However, we may still have a few rain showers in the early afternoon. Overall, after the main storm line breaks through on Thursday, we expect no severe weather for the rest of the week.

Scattered showers are possible Friday as temperatures rise to the upper 60s. As we approach the weekend, temperatures will climb back into the 70s with occasional showers by Mother’s Day.
