2 people arrested after weapons and cannabis discovered in a tobacco shop in Smithtown

Police said two more people were arrested as part of Operation Smoke Out in Suffolk.

As News 12 reported, Suffolk police launched the program earlier this month to crack down on the illegal sale of e-cigarettes in the county.

Police said they found weapons including swords, knives and kung fu stars in a tobacco shop in Smithtown.

According to police, a total of 17 weapons were seized.

In addition, police said cannabis products and a large quantity of flavored e-cigarettes were found when officers stopped by the Red Mountain Smoke Shop to conduct a compliance check.

According to police, an employee also tried to sell cannabis products to an undercover investigator.

The two employees of the store were arrested and both are accused of possession of weapons.

In total, more than 30 people have been arrested as part of Operation Smoke Out.
