Tobacco shop in Gurnee area hit with two-week license suspension

A Lake County tobacco and vape store that faced multiple complaints about selling its products to minors has had its license revoked for two weeks, authorities said Tuesday.

Moshi’s Tobacco & Vape at 34491 N. Old Walnut Circle near Gurnee failed a compliance audit conducted in January 2024 by Lake County sheriff’s detectives, officials said.

When investigators spoke with the clerk in charge, she lied about her identity and gave investigators a false name and date of birth, according to the sheriff’s department.

The Lake County Health Department heard testimony regarding the illegal sale of tobacco at a March 13 hearing. Following the hearing, the health official revoked Moshi’s tobacco license from April 25 to May 8.
