Document: Man arrested for fatal shooting on U Street

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced the arrest of one person in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on April 27 at a restaurant in the 1300 block of U Street, NW.

According to MPD documents, officers heard gunshots in the area and went to the restaurant, where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as 43-year-old Kenneth Goins.

On May 22, 40-year-old Robert Lowe was arrested and charged with second-degree armed murder.
