Dead and Company extend Sphere residency with new shows in August

The Grateful Dead offshoot group added six more shows to their Las Vegas residency in August

Dead and Company have extended their appearance at the Las Vegas Sphere and a number of further shows are planned for August.

The Grateful Dead offshoot has added six new dates to its “Dead Forever” residency: August 1, 2 and 3, and August 8, 9 and 10. Tickets for the new dates will go on sale Friday, May 31 at 10 a.m. PT. Fans can register now for a presale that is expected to put tickets on sale May 30 at 10 a.m. PT. Ticket prices start at $145, including taxes and fees.

Dead and Co. announced their appearance at the Sphere back in January, with a lineup featuring Dead greats Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, alongside John Mayer, bassist Oteil Burbridge, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and drummer Jay Lane. The shows marked a quick turnaround for the group, which had embarked on a “final tour” in 2023, culminating with two shows in their hometown of San Francisco.

The Dead Forever residency kicked off earlier this month, with Dead and co. using the Sphere’s unique audiovisual technology to create a show full of references to the band’s history. In a review Rolling Stone called the spectacle “the most dazzling visual show in the history of the Grateful Dead.”

Dead and Co. are only the third band to perform at the Sphere. U2 opened the venue with a series of shows late last year, while Phish played a shorter run of four shows in April. While the Sphere also features interactive exhibits, no further concerts have been announced after Dead Forever.
