Severe weather warning day until Monday evening

Severe weather warning day until Monday evening

WHAT THEY’RE WATCHING VERY CLOSELY. YES, SOME SHOWERS AND STORMS THAT ARE HAPPENING NOW WILL CONTINUE. YOU’LL BE WATCHING THAT TREND FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS UNTIL THEY FINALLY MOVE EAST, AFTER ABOUT 8:00 AM. SO AGAIN SPOKEN SHOWERS AND STORMS, NOTHING REALLY ORGANIZED SO FAR. NOTHING HAS BEEN HEAVY. BUT ONE STORM IS GETTING STRENGTHENED. THAT’S ONE THAT’S MOVING OUT OF WEIRTON, RIGHT ALONG ROUTE 22, IN THE NORTHERN PARTS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY. AND AS LONG AS THAT STAYS THE SAME, IT’S HEADED DIRECTLY TOWARDS DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH. THERE IS NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING, BUT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SPECIAL WEATHER ADVISORY FOR WINDS UP TO 50 MPH. AS THIS PATH IS AGAIN DIRECTLY ALONG ROUTE 22. FROM ABOUT BURGETTSTOWN UP TO FRANKFORT SPRINGS ON 18 WHERE WE’RE SEEING SOME HEAVY RAIN OFF AND ON COMING TOWARDS TOWN OVER THE NEXT, SAY, ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES OR SO. THIS IS SOMEHOW RELATED TO THE COLD FRONT ITSELF AS IT PASSES THROUGH. SO THAT’S IF THERE’S SOMETHING GETTING STRONGER LIKE THIS ONE STORM WE’RE WATCHING RIGHT NOW IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, THIS IS THE TIME FRAME THAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN. DAMAGING WIND, HAIL, AND HEAVY RAIN. OUR BIGGEST CONCERNS: BY IT’S AROUND 8:00 AM, THESE STORMS WILL BE GONE. AND THEN WE’LL ACTUALLY SEE SOME CLEARING UP AS WE CONTINUE TO DEVELOP TONIGHT AND THEN TOMORROW DURING THE DAY. SOME RAIN WILL DEVELOP AGAIN IN THE AFTERNOON. THERE MAY BE SOME ROLLS OF THUNDER, BUT NO SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED FOR TOMORROW. AND THEN WE’RE EXPECTING SPOTS OF RAIN ON WEDNESDAY. IT’S LIKELY TO RAIN DURING THE MORNING. SPOTS OF RAIN WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AS WELL, SO WEDNESDAY IS A DAY OF IMPACT. THEN IT’LL DRY AS WE HEAD INTO THURSDAY AND THAT’LL KEEP US DRY AS WE HEAD INTO THE WEEKEND. MOSTLY CLOUDY RIGHT NOW ON THE ACTION CAM, WHICH IS AGAIN WATCHING THE STORM WEST OF CITY ON ROUTE 2278. CURRENT TEMPERATURE. WIND SPEED IS COMING FROM THE SOUTHWEST AT 15 MPH. WE HAVE A WARNING DAY UNTIL 8:00 AM. WE’LL START IN THE 50S. TOMORROW EARLY. WE’LL END IN THE LOWER 70’S AS WE END UP FOR THE DAY TOMORROW. So a little cooler than today. Wednesday is a slam day with scattered showers at 65. Thursday is dry at 6874. Friday looks fantastic. Up to 77 on Saturday. Good news if you’re going to the Kenny Chesney concert at Acrisure Stadium, it looks fantastic. Temps at around 71 when he takes the concert.
