…Dead at 72

Susan Buckner — Who played Olivia Newton John’s dapper boyfriend in “Grease” — has died… TMZ has confirmed.

The actress’ representative announced the sad news on Tuesday, saying: “Susan passed away peacefully on May 2nd surrounded by her loved ones.” No further details about her death were released, including a possible cause of death.

Susan is best known for her role as Patty Simcox in the hit 1978 musical film – she left a lasting impression as Sandy’s girl friend, who had a striking look thanks to her large glasses.

She played a major role in “Grease”…she was in almost all of the major musical sequences…including in “Summer Nights” where she cozied up next to ONJ.

Susan also had a memorable moment during the dance scene at school… where her character put on a show – only to be mocked and harassed by the boys who lifted up her dress.

While “Grease” was certainly SB’s greatest claim to fame, she had actually appeared in a handful of other films and television shows over the years – including roles in “The Love Boat,” “Starsky and Hutch,” “The Amazing Howard Hughes,” “Switch.” “, “Deadly Blessing” and more.

After quitting acting in the 1980s, Susan continued to direct and teach local theater and dance. She is survived by her son, daughter, grandchildren and other family members.

Susan was 72.

REST IN PEACE.
