Woman charged after Chatham County officials say her four dogs attacked three people

DAVONTE AND LINDSEY, WE BEGIN WITH AN DEVELOPING STORY FROM LOS ANGELES. POLICE HAVE LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE DEATH OF ACTOR MATTHEW PERRY. POLICE ARE TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY THE FRIENDS STAR HAD HIGH LEVELS OF KETAMINE IN HIS BLOOD AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH. THEY ALSO WANT TO FIND OUT WHERE HE GOT THE DRUG FROM. PERRY WAS FOUND UNRESPONSIVE IN THE HOT TUB HOT TUB OF HIS LOS ANGELES HOME IN OCTOBER. HIS AUTOPSY, PUBLISHED IN DECEMBER, FINDED THAT THE AMOUNT OF KETAMINE IN HIS BLOOD WAS IN THE RANGE USED FOR GENERAL ANESTHESIS DURING HIGH POINT SURGERY. POLICE SAID MORE THAN 50 DOGS WERE TAKEN FROM A HOME YESTERDAY AS PART OF AN INVESTIGATION. HERE IS A PICTURE WE GOT FROM THE PERSON ON PROSPECT STREET. THE DETAILS ARE LITTLE, BUT HIGH POINT POLICE CONFIRMED THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME AN ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANIZATION HAS COME TO THIS HOME. LAST WEEK MORE THAN A DOZEN MORE DOGS WERE TOOK AWAY. NOW THE POLICE SAY ONE OF THE DOGS THEY TOOK DIED. AND IN GUILFORD COUNTY, COMMUNITY MEMBERS Gathered TODAY TO HONOR COPS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. TODAY’S LAW ENFORCEMENT CEREMONY HONORED 26 COPS, INCLUDING GREENSBORO POLICE SERGEANT PHILLIP DALE PHOENIX, WHO WAS SHOT AND KILLED ON DECEMBER 30 OF LAST YEAR. Chatham County authorities also learned that the dogs had attacked a 66-year-old Cary man Monday around 2 p.m.

Authorities charged the dogs’ owner, Brittney Fountain, 31, with four counts of animal cruelty, four counts of animal abandonment, one count of failure to vaccinate a dog against rabies and numerous violations of Chatham County ordinance.
