Man accused of raping multiple women near Angeles National Forest – NBC Los Angeles

A man accused of raping several women near the Angeles National Forest in the same week has been arrested by the LA County Sheriff.

According to police, 40-year-old Eduardo Sarabia was arrested at gunpoint on Highway 39 when a sheriff’s deputy heard a woman screaming for help in his van. L.A. County sheriff’s investigators say Sarabia is responsible for raping a second woman on May 12 in the same area where he was arrested.

Cuauhtemoc Torres, a local business owner, said it is fortunate because many people visit the area for recreation.

“So many people come there to hike or bike, and I feel terrible hearing this news,” Torres said. “Usually this is a safe place to run, so I’m really surprised.”

Sarabia is charged with forcible rape and forced oral copulation. His next court date is scheduled for June 27 and will be held without bail.

Police believe there may be more women who have been attacked and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
