Prosecutor: Top student in NYC intern at Citibank tried to rape woman after groping another the day before

A student at a prestigious business school was in the Big Apple for a summer internship at Citibank when he allegedly committed a series of sex crimes, authorities and sources say.

Overzealous pervert Chamberlain Nw-iue, a 21-year-old rising senior at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, attempted to rape one of his victims a day after he was released without bail following another assault, according to police and the Manhattan district attorney’s office.

The perverted suspect later boasted to police about his knowledge of women – and claimed that his eye contact with the victim of the attempted rape beforehand was sufficient “invitation” for him to come to her apartment, authorities said.

“When you’ve been around the opposite sex for a while, you can read the signals. It was like an invitation to come into her apartment and see what was going on,” the madman said, according to newly released court documents.

Nw-iue told police he had been in the city for about a month and was working for Citibank when he was arrested in his first attack on June 27, prosecutors said.

In that incident, the suspect attacked a woman at the corner of Perry and Bleecker streets in the heart of Greenwich Village by sliding his hand down her pants and squeezing her buttocks, prosecutors said.

The pervert then tried to kiss the woman before she screamed for help, said prosecutors, who charged Nw-iue with sexual assault and battery in connection with the attack.

Prosecutors requested $5,000 bail for Nw-iue because he did not live permanently in the Big Apple, but Judge Valentina Morales opted for supervised release.

Just 24 hours later, Nw-iue attacked another woman, authorities said.

Prosecutors said the villain’s criminal behavior “escalated” with the attempted rape of the second woman in her East 95th Street apartment in East Harlem. He followed the victim, who was walking her dog, into her building and then forced his way into her room.

The sex addict then told the victim to “calm the fuck down” and that he was going to “have sex with her,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Julia Hooks said in court, adding that the victim was only rescued when a bouncer heard her cries for help.

When police arrived at the apartment, they found Nw-iue holding the victim inside and arrested him, authorities said.

“At the time of the defendant’s arrest, (Nw-iue) was in custody and was making comments about other women he was seeing. Essentially, he said, ‘I would f–k her,'” Hooks said, according to a court transcript.

Nw-iue allegedly tried to downplay the attempted rape to police by boasting about how much he knew about women.

“Sometimes you just interact with your eyes and it’s clear what’s being said. Once you’ve done it for a while, it’s pretty obvious,” he said, according to court documents.

Nw-iue pleaded not guilty to attempted rape and other charges when arraigned before the Supreme Court. Received from NY Post

Nw-iue pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree burglary as a sexually motivated crime and attempted rape at his arraignment in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, where Judge Curtis Farber held him on $100,000 cash bail.

Nwi-ue of Indianapolis lasted only 10 days at his internship at Citibank before he was fired for behavioral problems, the financial company said.

“This individual is not a Citi employee. He was terminated within two weeks of starting his internship due to complaints about his conduct,” a Citibank representative told the Post.
