Woman says multiple men invaded her home with guns before exchanging gunfire in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – Authorities are investigating what they say was a home invasion in southwest Houston late Friday night.

The shooting reportedly happened in the 10600 block of Beechnut around 11:25 p.m.

According to Lt. Riley of the Houston Police Department, a woman called police and said about four or five men were standing outside her house with guns and knocking on her door.

Riley said at one point the men forced their way inside the woman’s home, leading to a shootout between the suspects and people inside the home.

No one was injured inside the home, but Riley said one of the suspects was struck multiple times in the head. That suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

It is currently unclear what exactly led to the incident.
