Police investigate serious motorcycle accident on Walnut Tree Road

On July 19, 2024, at approximately 10:09 a.m., Shelton Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a motorcycle and car crash at the intersection of Walnut Tree Road and Thompson Street in Shelton. Upon arrival, Shelton Police and EMS found a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman in the roadway with serious injuries.

The Shelton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team was dispatched to investigate the incident. Initial findings indicated that the male driver of the motorcycle was traveling south on Walnut Tree Hill Road with his female passenger. A motor vehicle traveling north on Walnut Tree Hill Road attempted to turn left onto Thompson Street and collided with the motorcycle, blocking its path.

Both the motorcyclist and his passenger were transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment. The female passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was admitted, while the male driver is in intensive care with critical injuries. The 17-year-old male driver of the motor vehicle involved in the accident was uninjured.
