Indiana man charged after child abuse investigation, police say | Crime Reports

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (WDRB) — An Indiana man is facing child abuse charges after a months-long investigation.

Indiana State Police arrested 31-year-old Michael Allen Richardson of Hardinsburg on Friday.

The investigation began on June 12 after the Indiana Department of Child Services was notified of the allegations. The investigation included a forensic interview, and investigators subsequently obtained a search warrant for cell phones related to the case.

Investigators believe Richardson had illegal sexual contact with a child.

He was arrested and charged with four counts of child abuse, five counts of child exploitation, and other charges.

Richardson was already incarcerated in the Washington County Jail in Indiana on other charges at the time of his arrest on Friday.
