Buffalo man sentenced to 25 years in prison for fatal stabbing

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, for a fatal stabbing in 2022, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

On December 19, 2022, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Otis Johnson, 46, got into an argument with Katherine Crofton, 56, at her Riley Street apartment. During the fight, Johnson stabbed Crofton six times and she died from her injuries.


Johnson was arrested and charged with first-degree manslaughter the next day.

He was convicted Friday of a second offense.
