Shooting near Del Mar College leaves one dead

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A man has died in an altercation between neighbors, and now Corpus Christi police officers are trying to determine what led to the death.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday when police were called to the 3800 block of Brandywine Court. The call came that there had been a shooting and one person had been injured.

When police arrived at the scene, they said they found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he died.

Police told 3NEWS that several people were probably involved in the incident.

Detectives from the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Unit were called to the scene to initiate a homicide investigation. Witnesses and individuals were detained for questioning.

Police currently believe there was a disturbance between neighbors on Brandywine Court when someone pulled out a gun and shot the 22-year-old man.

No arrests have been made yet, but police say the investigation is still in the early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call Corpus Christi police at (361) 886-2600.
