On the second day of the annual Country Thunder music festival in Craven, Saskatchewan, two women told RCMP they were sexually assaulted on the festival grounds.

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Lumsden, a woman was “approached and sexually assaulted by an unknown man while walking between campsites” in the early hours of Friday morning.

Then, at 10 p.m. that same day, a second woman reported to RCMP that she was approached by an unknown man as she was leaving the restroom.

The man “then made verbal comments and physical advances and attempted to force her into one of the portable toilets,” an RCMP news release said. “She was able to push him away and escape without injury.”

She told RCMP the man was approximately 6 feet tall and was wearing a red checked shirt, denim shorts, a tan cowboy hat and two diamond earrings.

The RCMP says both attacks are currently under investigation, but they do not believe they are connected “at this time.”

They ask anyone who saw anything or has information about the attacks to contact police at 310-RCMP (7267) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The Country Thunder Music Festival lasts until Sunday evening.
