Man convicted of murder after homophobic incident in Fairfax City

A man was convicted of second-degree murder Thursday. This involved the murder of a Fairfax City man who authorities say was left in a dumpster hours after he solicited the defendant for sex.

After thinking about it for about five hours, A Fairfax Circuit Court jury found Aaron James Anthony Robertson, 31, guilty of the murder of 50-year-old Luis Barahona Reyes on June 10, 2023. Robertson, who was unhoused at the time of the crime, faces up to 40 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for July 26.
