Passenger arrested by police – Lincoln Parish Journal

A Ruston man was arrested by state police last Thursday after giving a trooper a false name to avoid arrest on a warrant.

Taurus M. Davis, 43, was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on South Trenton Street for a traffic violation. Davis, who had an open container of alcoholic beverages, initially gave his name as Rafael Davis and stated he was 33 years old.

After his real name was determined, it was discovered that Davis was wanted by the City of Ruston on two warrants for his arrest for drunk driving and driving while suspended.

Davis was arrested at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on charges of resisting an officer by false information, having an open container, and the two warrants. Bail was set at $7,500.
