ABC-7 First Alert: El Paso and Las Cruces prepare for dangerous heat wave

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Happy Sunday! We are currently under the first ABC-7 heat warning due to dangerous heat.

Expect highs of around 41 degrees in El Paso and 40 degrees in Las Cruces.

Today the heat is at its strongest. Temperatures in the triple digits are expected in most lowland regions.

There is some relief on the horizon, however, as a cold front is forecast to move through the back door on Monday.

This front will help temperatures drop by several degrees compared to Sunday.
