Man arrested for threatening with a knife in South Seattle

Seattle police arrested a man in South Seattle on Tuesday evening for threatening people with a knife.

On July 2 at 6:53 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a man threatening people while armed with a large kitchen knife and making judgmental and derogatory comments toward them.

The officers were able to quickly locate and arrest the suspect. They seized a knife and confiscated it as evidence.

The 36-year-old man was taken to the King County Jail.

Detectives from the Homicide and Assault Unit charged him with two counts of hate crimes, obstructing a police officer and making a false or misleading statement to a public servant.

This case has been referred to the King County District Attorney’s Office.
