Dayton police arrest man for swatting calls

The Dayton Daily News is not naming him because no formal charges have been filed.

“Numerous false threats were reported this week. Officers responded to each one and investigated, ultimately determining that the threats were unfounded,” Dayton police posted on social media.

A number of charges of property damage have also been filed against the man, several of them at the same location, police said.

Swatting is a prank call to the emergency services in order to lure a large police contingent to a specific address.
