Water floods busy road in Buckhead

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are currently blocking several roads in Buckhead as water floods a busy street on the Fourth of July.

Officers blocked several intersections along Kingsboro Road NE in Atlanta’s Buckhead Heights neighborhood. Atlanta police officers told neighbors there appears to be a water main break, but 11Alive has reached out to the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management for more information.

This comes just over a month after large-scale water main breaks caused major problems in the city of Atlanta, prompting a boil water advisory for nearly a week and causing significant damage to nearby businesses. The water main breaks in late May and early June led to a state of emergency being declared in the city.

Atlanta police said there was no estimate of when the roads could reopen.
