1 dead after shooting in Sarasota neighborhood

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) – One person died after a shooting occurred in a Sarasota neighborhood Thursday morning.

Sarasota police said the shooting occurred shortly after 1 a.m. near the intersection of Dixie Avenue and 24th Street.

Officials said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
