French government spokesman attacked during election campaign – POLITICO

French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal condemned the attack and called for an end to political violence.

“This evening, candidate Prisca Thevenot and members of her campaign team were attacked by four people in Meudon while they were putting up election posters,” he said on X.

“Violence and intimidation have no place in our democracy. They have no place in our republic,” he added. “Let us reject the climate of violence and hatred that is spreading. I urge action now.”
