TCN suspends planned power outage in Ondo, Ekiti

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has suspended the planned power outage on the 132 kV Osogbo/Akure and Ado-Ekiti lines.

According to BEDC Electricity Plc (BEDC), the outage was originally planned for two months.

BEDC’s Head of Branding and Corporate Communications, Evelyn Gbiwen, said in a statement in Benin on Tuesday that the suspension would remain in effect until further notice.

“We wish to announce that we have just received further updates from TCN that TCN has suspended the planned disconnection of the Osogbo/Akure and Ado-Ekiti 132kV lines.

“The planned power outage, originally scheduled for July 1 to August 31, has been suspended until further notice.

“Our services will therefore continue without interruption,” she said.

In her opinion, BEDC continues to strive to better serve its customers.

BEDC had its customers in Ondo and Ekiti that TCN will carry out maintenance work on the 132 kV Osogbo-Akure transmission line for two months.

It said the maintenance work would include the installation of an optical ground cable and other activities that required interruption of operating hours to ensure a safe workplace.
