1 dead in shooting in Rio Verde; roads closed

RIO VERDE, AZ (AZFamily) – One person has died after an overnight shooting in the Rio Verde community north of Scottsdale. Authorities have cordoned off the area while they investigate.

Officers responded to the shooting just before 11 p.m. Monday at the corner of 168th Street and Dixileta Drive, north of Rio Verde Drive.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said one person was killed in the shooting. There are no suspects at large and the investigation is ongoing, the MCSO said.

During the investigation, officers closed Dixileta Drive between 168th and 172nd Streets in both directions.
