Southridge Mall closed early, fair was closed after several major fights

According to Greendale police, the Southridge Mall and a carnival held in the parking lot had to close early Saturday night because of several groups of teenagers. A police sergeant on the scene said fights broke out at the carnival around 4 p.m. Saturday night, forcing police to close the carnival early. The mall was closed to the public around 7 p.m. According to its website, the Southridge Mall is scheduled to close at 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Multiple agencies responded to the mall, including Greendale, Greenfield and Hales Corners police. Greendale police said no one was seriously injured in the fights, but police made more than 10 arrests. Around 8 p.m. Saturday, WISN 12 News cameras captured Greendale and Greenfield police officers chasing large groups of teenagers near the mall on 76th Street. Cameras captured teenagers dancing on tables inside McDonald’s before police responded and forced the teens back outside. The chaos slowed traffic on 76th Street as teens ran into the roadway and swerved to avoid oncoming vehicles. WISN 12 news crews observed one person being arrested. Police apparently dispersed most of the teens by 9 p.m. This story will continue to develop and we will update as new information becomes available.

According to Greendale police, fights between several groups of teenagers forced the Southridge Mall and a carnival in the parking lot to close early Saturday night.

A police sergeant at the scene said fights broke out at the fair at around 4pm on Saturday night, prompting police to close the fair early. The mall was closed to the public at around 7pm.

According to the Southridge Mall website, it is scheduled to close at 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Greendale Police, Greenfield Police and Hales Corners Police.

Greendale police said no one was seriously injured in the clashes, but law enforcement made more than 10 arrests.

Around 8 p.m. on Saturday, WISN 12 News cameras caught Greendale and Greenfield police officers chasing large groups of teenagers near the 76th Street mall.

WISN 12 news crews observed the arrest of a person.

It appears that the police dispersed most of the youths by 9 p.m.
