When officers arrived, police said the suspect had already brought the victim into the room.

Suspect arrested in Anaheim bank robbery;  1 hostage rescued

Negotiators tried to persuade the man to surrender. Eventually, SWAT officers got inside, rescued the hostage and arrested the suspect.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — A man suspected of robbing an Anaheim bank and taking at least one hostage was arrested Wednesday after barricading himself in a room.

It happened around 4:40 p.m. at the BMO Bank on Palma Avenue, near Lakeview Avenue.

When officers arrived, police said the suspect had already brought the victim into the room.

Negotiators tried to persuade the man to surrender. Eventually, SWAT officers got inside, rescued the hostage and arrested the suspect.

The victim was not injured in the incident and no suspects are known.

Officers remained on scene throughout the night and continued their investigation.
