Galloway man charged with attempted murder after knife attack on police officer

A Galloway Township man has been charged with attempted murder after prosecutors said he attacked a police officer with a knife in April.

According to police, the incident began when officers were called to a home on Cresson Avenue after several aborted 911 calls.

The cut was so severe that the officer’s teeth and mouth were exposed. Authorities said he had to undergo emergency surgery to treat his injuries.

The suspect was arrested after resisting for several minutes and refusing to drop the knife.

According to police, other officers were also injured in the altercation.

Kiminsky was taken into custody Wednesday and is being held in the Atlantic County Jail.
