1 dead after semi-truck crosses lanes of Route 422 and hits vehicle in Lower Providence Twp., Montgomery County

LOWER PROVIDENCE TWP., Pennsylvania (WPVI) – A driver was killed after his vehicle was struck by a semi-trailer truck on Route 422 in Lower Providence Twp., Montgomery County.

The accident occurred on Friday morning at St. Gabe’s Corner (milestone 188).

According to state police, the tractor-trailer left the westbound lane, crossed the median and struck a vehicle in the eastbound lane.

The vehicle plunged down the embankment and crossed most of the adjacent hiking trail before coming to rest on its side.

The driver of this vehicle was killed.

There were no reports of injuries to the semi-trailer driver.

For the investigation, both the eastbound and westbound lanes were closed.
