1 dead, 4 injured after violent night of shootings in Seattle

One person is dead and several others are in the hospital after being shot during the violent Monday night shooting in Seattle.

At around 9:45 p.m., a man was shot at the corner of Pasadena Pl NE and NE 42nd St. in the University District next to the Ship Canal Bridge, which connects northern Seattle with downtown, Seattle police said. 911 callers reported hearing gunshots near a homeless encampment next to the bridge. Despite life-saving efforts by Seattle police and firefighters, the man died at the scene.

At about the same time, four people arrived at Harborview Medical Center after the shooting. The first two victims are connected to each other, and it is unclear if this is also the case for the third and fourth victims, who arrived in a private vehicle.

It is unclear where the four people were shot and whether they are connected to the U-District shooting.

All victims admitted to hospital – men between the ages of 25 and 46 – are in satisfactory condition, the hospital said.

Seattle police said there were no witnesses to the previously fatal shooting.
