19-year-old Massachusetts man found dead near Colchuck Lake

According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, a 19-year-old Massachusetts man died Saturday near Colchuck Lake, a popular hiking destination in the Cascades.

On June 22, shortly after 3:30 p.m., emergency responders received a text message to 911 reporting an unconscious man lying near Colchuck Lake in Chelan County, a news release said.

According to the sheriff’s office, someone performed CPR on the man for 45 minutes but was unable to revive him.

A helicopter flew personnel to the scene and the body was transported to the Chelan County Coroner’s Office.
