90-year-old Chicago-area man killed by his grandson, police said

CHICAGO (CBS) – A 32-year-old man was arrested Saturday and accused of killing his own grandfather in southwest suburban Hickory Hills.

Dean J. Faulk has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his grandfather, 90-year-old Dean L. Faulk, who was found dead in their Hickory Hills home on Friday, police said.

While police did not disclose where the Faulks’ home was located Saturday, Hickory Hills police said Friday they were called to the 8700 block of 81st Court where a dead male victim was reported. Police said there was a history of “domestic incidents” at the home.

A suspect was arrested, police said on Friday. The next day, the younger Faulk was charged with first-degree murder.

The younger Faulk made his first court appearance Sunday at the Cook County Courthouse on California Avenue in Chicago.
