One injured after boat catches fire along Buffalo’s Outer Harbor

BUFFALO, N.Y. — One person was injured when a boat caught fire Thursday evening along Buffalo’s Outer Harbor.

The fire was reported around 6:45 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of Fuhrmann Boulevard. That’s where a boat was on fire with two people on board, a Buffalo Fire Department spokesperson told 2 On Your Side.

Firefighters who responded to the scene quickly extinguished the fire. A man suffered minor burns and was treated by first responders on site.

The damage caused an estimated $25,000 in damage to the boat and an additional $5,000 to the dock.

The investigation is looking into the causes of the fire.
