Mansfield man killed, two others seriously injured in Ohio crash 13

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Ohio 13 south of Mansfield Wednesday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Mansfield Post, the accident occurred at approximately 5:04 a.m. near mile marker 7.

Police said Tarin Hoffman, 36, of Mansfield was driving north on Ohio 13 in a 2004 Dodge Dakota with two passengers – Nathan Phillips, 48, of Mansfield, and Shannon Spicer, 40, of Mansfield.

The patrol said Hoffman drove left from center and struck a 2015 Subaru Outback traveling south on Ohio 13, driven by Kami Coe, 34, of Ashland.

“Ms. Hoffman’s vehicle overturned and came to a stop on the west side of the road,” the patrol said.

Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Hoffman and Spicer were taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with serious injuries. Coe was treated at the scene and released, police said.

According to police, Hoffman and Spicer were not wearing seat belts. Coe and Phillips, however, were wearing seat belts.

According to the patrol, the accident is still being investigated.

Mansfield Post officers were assisted by the Bellville Police Department, Washington and Jefferson Township Fire Departments, Richland County Coroner’s Office, Mike’s Marathon Towing and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
