Posts featuring Elordi’s deepfake video have reportedly been viewed over 3 million times on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Original video creator spoke out against abuse

The original video was confirmed to be from an OnlyFans creator who was 17 years old at the time the video was created.

The creator, now 19 and living in Brazil, has publicly condemned the misuse of his video on his X account, stating, “This is literally my video” and “Deep fake is getting scary.”

In addition, he repeatedly called for the removal of the posts containing the deepfake.

However, in other posts the content was correctly identified as a deepfake.

More and more involuntary deepfakes on the Internet

In recent years, sexually explicit deepfakes without consent have become increasingly common on the Internet.

These deceptive digital media, created or modified using artificial intelligence or similar technologies, are manipulated to convincingly replace one person’s image with that of another.

Well-known artists such as Taylor Swift and Megan Thee Stallion as well as numerous TikTok stars and teenage girls have fallen victim to such content.

X’s fight against the spread of deepfakes

Since April 2023, X has implemented a policy against sharing “synthetic, manipulated, or out-of-context media that may deceive or confuse people and cause harm.”

Also prohibited is content that “sexualizes a person without their consent.”

Despite this policy, it has been a challenge for X to prevent the spread of deepfakes like the one involving Elordi.

Adult content creators have expressed concern about the increasing number of pornographic scams on the platform.
