Burglary in North Carolina sends daughter and parents to hospital; police search for driver of Dodge Challenger

SPOUT SPRINGS, NC (WNCN) — A Harnett County family was attacked and injured during a break-in at their home early Saturday morning. Two cars were also stolen during the break-in, officials said.

The incident was reported around 2 a.m. Saturday at a home in the Yorkshire neighborhood of western Harnett County, according to a news release from the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.


The homeowners, their daughter and her friend, were sitting in the garage when up to six men arrived at the house, officials said.

“The victims were forcibly brought into the apartment and attacked there,” the press release said.

The man, woman and daughter are being treated at UNC-Chapel Hill for non-life-threatening injuries.

Two cars were stolen from the family, including a gray four-door Honda Accord that is still missing.

Officials released a photo of the car the suspects drove to the crime scene. Officials say it is a silver-gray Dodge Challenger with black rims.

“Due to the violence of this incident, we are asking you to share this information,” the MPs said.
