Today’s MSSP Alert market news:

1. Introduction of the managed backup solution: Blue Mantis, a managed services, cybersecurity and cloud solutions provider, has launched Blue Mantis Managed Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS). The service provides midsize and large customers with secure and scalable cloud backup and recovery capabilities from a single point of contact while simplifying the management and administration of their backup operations, the company said.

2nd cyber deal signed: Everfox (formerly Forcepoint Federal) has announced a definitive agreement to purchase Garrison Technology Ltd. The addition of Garrison’s hardware-based security and software capabilities to the Everfox software suite of cross-domain, threat protection, and insider risk solutions will provide enterprise customers in government and regulated industries with a broader range of innovative cybersecurity solutions to protect their digital infrastructure, the companies said. Everfox is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, with offices in Champaign, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Malvern, UK.

3. Expanding the security partnership: Zscaler, a cloud security specialist, has expanded its partnership with Google to help enterprises simplify and strengthen their zero-trust approach. Integration with Chrome Enterprise will provide enhanced threat and data protection to hundreds of millions of enterprise users without the need for traditional VPNs or additional browsers, the company said. In addition, Zscaler’s integration with Google Workspace helps prevent the exfiltration of sensitive corporate data from apps like Gmail and Drive. And sharing Zscaler’s security telemetry with Google Security Operations enables enterprises to strengthen their security operations – all from the cloud.

4. Security partnership: Intezer, an MSSP and specialist in AI-driven automation for security operations, is partnering with RSM, a professional services firm, to fully automate and improve their alert triage and incident response processes. This partnership enables the security operations center (SOC) managed by RSM Defense to leverage Intezer’s AI technology to the strategic advantage of its clients. With Intezer, RSM Defense’s cybersecurity experts receive detailed analytics on every alert, enabling them to uncover hidden cyberattacks and act quickly to protect clients worldwide, the company said.

5. Industry recognition: Sherweb, a cloud marketplace provider, has received all six Microsoft Solutions Partner awards. These awards are part of the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner program and are given based on a company’s ability to deliver Microsoft technology. Sherweb is a Microsoft Solutions Partner in the following areas: Infrastructure (Azure), Data and AI (Azure), Digital and App Innovation (Azure), Security, Modern Work, and Business Applications.

6. Reported ransomware attack: Ascension, one of the largest U.S. healthcare systems, reported that an employee caused a ransomware attack in May 2024 by accidentally downloading a malicious file onto a company device. The attack affected electronic health records, phones, and systems for ordering tests, procedures, and medications, prompting Ascension to take some devices offline on May 8.
