Accident in Williamsburg County claims one life and leads to highway closure

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – Police report a traffic accident occurred in Williamsburg County Thursday evening that left one driver dead.

The collision occurred at 10:22 p.m. on Highway 52 at Coleman Road, about 10 miles south of Kingstree.

Shortly before 11 p.m., the Williamsburg County Fire Department arrived at the scene and reported that all roads were closed.

According to police, a 2019 Ford F-150 was traveling east on the highway when a 2018 Kia Soul traveling west struck it.

The driver of the Ford was not injured, but the driver of the Kia died at the scene of the accident.

The Williamsburg County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased.
