BANNER COUNTY – Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 29-year-old Scottsbluff man on May 3.

Jaimin Mesa, of Scottsbluff, was driving a Ford sedan eastbound on Highway 88W, about four miles east of the Wyoming state line, when the car spun out of control and rolled several times.

Authorities report that Mesa was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car.

Banner County Sheriff Zane Hopkins reports the accident was spotted by a passing motorist around 6 a.m. and likely occurred between 1 and 2 a.m

Hopkins said speed and alcohol are being investigated as possible factors in the accident.
